Gerald J. ‘‘Jerry’’ Wise
LEXINGTON. S.C.– Gerald J. Wise, 84 of 123 Gibson Road, Lexington S.C., passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at Prisma Palmetto Health Hospital from a cardiac Illness.
He was born April 23 1936, in Hoboken N.J., to the late Gerald J. Wise Sr. and Margaret (Schellmann) Wise.
He was raised in Dunkirk N.Y., served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-75 and retired at Cocoa Beach Fla., where he was a personnel specialist and played basketball, He was a life-
time member of the American Legion, His passion in life was basketball, bowling and watching football.
He worked at Florida Employment Security Commission, and Morton Thiokol (NASA), he graduated from Brevard Community College with a masters degree in business management-human resource.
Survivors include wife (late) Shirley F. (Wellick) Wise; six brothers and two sisters; children: Denise A Fields (John), Terry L Wise (Lydia), Victoria L Cooper (Bobby), Bonnie J. Wise and Thomas P Wise; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great–grandchildren; and five stepchildren.
Memorial services will be held at Quantico, Va. National Cemetery in August 2020 with a wake to be held shortly after the memorial for family and friends.
Arrangements have been made through South Carolina Cremation Society.
