Leon J. Dolce

Leon J. Dolce, 92, of Forestville, died Thursday morning (June 25, 2020) at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dunkirk.

He was born June 20, 1928, in Buffalo, the son of the late Arthur and Valeria (Russ) Dolce.

Mr. Dolce served in the U.S. Army from 1946-49. He was a graduate of Bryant & Stratton Business Institute in Buffalo.

A 30-year employee of the U.S. Postal Service, Leon had served as the Forestville postmaster for 10 years. He also was a grape and apple farmer.

Leon was a member of the Hanover Lodge 152 in Forestville. A very personable man, he enjoyed fishing and chatting with his friends.

Survivors include his wife, Frances (Villafrank) Dolce, whom he married June 27, 1953; two sons: Arthur Dolce and Edward Dolce, both of Forestville; one grandson, Anthony Dolce of Fredonia; one sister, Camelia Crandall of Las Vegas, Nev.; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Joseph and David Dolce.

The family graciously thanks the staff at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for all the wonderful, compassionate care and attention given to Leon.

There will be no calling hours or funeral service. Burial will be in Willowbrook Park Cemetery.
