Robert M. “Bob” Klemann, 90, of Dunkirk, died Friday (June 19, 2020) at home.
He was born Dec. 31, 1929, in Dunkirk, the son of the late Vincent and Isabelle (Goble) Klemann.
A lifelong resident of the area, Bob was a graduate of Randolph High School, class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1951-53.
He had been employed as a station shift supervisor for Niagara Mohawk, retiring in 1987 after 37 years of service.
Bob was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, where he served as an usher for many years. He was a member of the Dunkirk-Fredonia Lion’s Club, served as president, and was the recipient of the Lion of the Year award in 1999-2000. Bob was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 929. He was a 4th degree member of the Cardinal Mindszenty Assembly and past grand knight. He was an active member of several other social organizations in the area. He enjoyed spending time with his family and canine companion, Moose.
Survivors include his wife, Ann (Lamphear) Klemann; three daughters: Dianna (Don) Dyche of Atlanta, Ga., Cheryl (Doug) Farnham and Linda (Richard) Lundstedt, both of Florida; three sons: Timothy (Anne) Klemann of Florida, Martin (Kristy) Klemann of Fredonia, and John Klemann and his daughter, Izabella of Dunkirk; three brothers: Mark Klemann, Louis Klemann, and Danny Klemann; two sisters: Kay Keleher and Nancy Paolie; two great- granddaughter, and several grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Klemann; and two sisters: Mary Lou Kolher and Joan Manna.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Stockton Greenwood Cemetery, Stockton, N.Y. Memorial may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
