Barbara E. Sommer
Barbara E. Sommer, of Sheridan, died, Thursday evening, July 23, 2020. She was born March 5, 1932, daughter of the late Clarence and Barbara (Ludes) Braun.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, the parish Ladies Guild, and past member of the former St. John Bosco R.C. Church, where she had volunteered and was a receipiant of the St. Joseph Lay Award.
Surviving are a son Michael (Carol) Sommer; daughter Laura Sommer; grandchildren John and Heather Gronkowski and Steven Kneussel, along with several nieces and nephews survive.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, is her husband of over 59 years, Jack B. Sommer, whom she had married Sept. 28, 1957, and died Dec. 27, 2016; also sisters Jane Bremer, Mary Ann Roach, Dorothy Topliffe.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty St, in Dunkirk.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 1o AM in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R. C. Church, and interment in Sheridan Cemetery.
