Carol R. Tilyou

Born March 5, 1957 in Salamanca, a daughter of the late Gordon Wadsworth and Beatrice (Bea Silvernail) Donald Wellman.

A longtime Chautauqua County resident, she was a Cassadaga Valley Central School Alumni.

In earlier years she was a 4H member and leader, cook at Cockaigne Ski resort and a baker and deli worker at South Dayton Superette. Carol then spent many years providing in home care through Staff Builders, Jamestown.

She loved helping and doing for others, and with her husband, provided a foster home, ultimately adopting nine.

Wife of 25 years to Larry C. Tilyou, whom she married Dec. 23, 1994; mother of Eric (Tammy Sawyer) Overend, Teresa VanHouten, Michelle (Mike) Main, Amy (Dean) Troyer, David (Amber) Jarosz-Tilyou, Wendy, Brian (Jenny Tonger), Josh, Michael, Billy Bob, Amanda, Cassandra, Megan, Dillon, Keith Tilyou and John Evans; grandmother of 23; great-grandmother of five; sister of Richard (Deborah) Wadsworth. Also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were private.
