Arthur N. Spinks

Before retirement, Art worked at Malleable Iron in Falconer and was a ski lift operator and grounds keeper at Peek n’ Peak golf course. He was also a farm hand at Crosscut Farms of Sherman, N.Y. Art enjoyed watching and participating in drag racing. He won numerous trophies and broke speed records at race tracks in the area. Art was an avid collector of vintage car materials including every issue of Hot Rod magazine. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Art is survived by his 4 children residing in New York: Christine Murphy, of Brocton, Shamarie (Tom) Allen, of Brocton, Toby Spinks, of Manhattan, and Amanda (Kirk) Ayers, of Sherman; nine grandchildren: Caitlin, Dylan, Lynsey, Chelsey, Korey, Kamron, Kholie, Keegan, and Karagan; five siblings: Janet Ohmer of Corry, Pa., Shirley Earnest of Wauchula, Fla., Lois Robinson, of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., Steve Spinks, of Bowling Green, Fla., and Rodney Spinks, of Wauchula Fla.. Art is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Newton and Marian Spinks. No prior visitation. A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions in honor of Art may be made to the Sherman Volunteer Fire Department.
