Jane C. Sinare

BROCTON — Jane C. Sinare, 78, of Brocton, N.Y., passed away peacefully Friday evening, Sept. 18, 2020, at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie, Pa.

Jane was born March 26, 1942, in Babylon, L.I., a daughter of the late John D. and Dorothy M. (Mulkin) Otten.

She had attended and graduated from Brocton Central School class of 1960 and was the chairwoman of their 50th anniversary there. Jane had married the love of her life, Anthony Sinare on May 8, 1965, at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Brocton, N.Y., and had just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Together they raised two wonderful daughters. She had been employed by Miller’s Market in Portland, N.Y., for several years and also had owned and operated Something Different, antique shop in Brocton, N.Y.

She was a faithful parishioner of the former St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church (now St. Dominic’s) in Brocton, N.Y.. and was a member of the Eta Tau, Beta Sigma Phi, Brocton American Legion Post 434 Auxiliary and had also served as the Town of Portland Historian.

Jane loved gardening, antiques, and playing Friday night Scrabble with her girlfriends. She loved writing letters, and was an avid and faithful Buffalo Sabres and Bills fan.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Anthony; her daughters: Lisa (Todd) Gugino and Laurie (Shawn) Gnadzinski; cherished grandchildren; Robert Gugino and Eva Gnadzinskil and her loving step-grandchildren: Todd RA and Taylor Gugino.

Jane’s family would like to thank the Brocton Fire Department Rescue Squad for the care and assistance they provided for her at the time of need.

Private funeral services were held at the MORSE Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave., Brocton, N.Y., with Father Romeo Hontiveros of St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church officiating. Interment was in Portland Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in honor of Jane may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or to the Salvation Army Assistance Relief Fund.
