GOWANDA — Lucille M. Donahue, 97, of Gowanda, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, at her home. She was born on June 2, 1923 in Hamilton, Ontario, the daughter of the late Edward and Emma (Schaidel) Martin. On June 21, 1947 she married Donald N. Donahue who predeceased her in December of 1994.
Lucille worked for Verizon based out of Buffalo for many years. She was a member of Pioneer through her work, the St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Gowanda, as well as the Gowanda Travel Club of which she enjoyed their trips.
Mrs. Donahue is survived by five children; son, John (Marcia) Donahue of Springville, N.Y., daughter, Ann Marie Howe of Gowanda, N.Y., daughter, Judith (David) Gabel of Langford, N.Y., son, Paul (Mary) Donahue of Collins, N.Y., and son, Tom Donahue of Gowanda, N.Y.; as well as nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, Lucille is predeceased by a daughter, Maureen Walters; son-in-law, Richard Howe; brother, Marty; and sisters: Velma and Gertrude.
Friends may call on Friday, Oct. 2, 2020, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 105 East Main St. in Gowanda.
A Mass Of Christian Burial will be said on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Gowanda.
Burial will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Hamburg.
