PERRYSBURG — – Robert Louis Gray, 21, died Sept. 17, 2020, at home.

He was born Jan. 23, 1999 in Buffalo, N.Y.. Robert was a 2017 graduate of Randolph Academy through the Gowanda Central School district, and attended Jamestown Community College for a semester to pursue a pre-engineering degree. Rob was a walking encyclopedia of military and Cold War history, and an arm chair international statesman who had definitive opinions on the state of the world and firm ideas on how to fix its problems.

He was very witty and had a good ear for impersonations. He enjoyed hiking in the woods, solving mechanical problems, collecting Cold War-era equipment, building scale models, music of many genres, his kittycats, and video gaming.

He is survived by his parents, David L. and Gayla Gray, and his sister, Julia, all of Perrysburg, N.Y.; a grandmother, Charlene Gray of South Hill, VA.; uncle, Thomas Gray (Jenna) of Crewe VA.; uncle, Thomas Gross (Lori) of Woodinville, Wask; and an aunt, Kristine Gross-Squillante (Fred) of Gahanna, Ohio. Also survived by cousins: Madeline, Rudyard and Caleb Gross, Duncan and Nathan Squillante, MacKenna, Liam, Bryleigh, Zoe, Ewan, Annie, Ariel and Amber Gray.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Alfred and Beverly Gross, Hervy L. Gray; and an uncle, Scott Gray.

The funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 2020, at the Schindler Funeral Home in Gowanda, N.Y., with Pastor Michael Nace officiating. Facemasks will be required for all attendees. Burial will follow at Jolls Road Cemetery. Visitation is from 1-3 p.m., prior to the service time at the funeral home.
