Dorothy A. O’Brien “Dottie” McQuiggan

Dorothy A. O’Brien “Dottie” McQuiggan, 82, of Bear Lake, passed away, Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020, at home, with family and friends by her side.
She was born Sept. 1, 1938, in Lackawanna the only daughter of the late Matthew and Dorothy Bogner O’Brien. She was a 1956 graduate of Cassada-ga Valley Central School.
Dottie was a dedicated mother and grandmother, who also enjoyed being a foster grandparent at local elementary schools. She also babysat for numerous families earning her the af-fectionate title of “Grandma Dottie” and “Ma”.
She was a member of the Stockton Community Church and former member of the Stockton and Cassa-daga Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliaries.
Wife of 45 years to the late Joseph H. McQuiggan, whom she married Mar. 2, 1957 and who died May 19, 2002; mother of Joe (Joie), Kate and Chris (Becky), all of Bear Lake, Jim (Kelley) of Skaneateles and Tom (Marcy) McQuig-gan of Cassadaga and Tina King of Bloomingdale, Ga.; grandmother of Lindsey Bernard, Karly, Kyle, Ryan, Alex and Natalie McQuiggan, Robert and Olivia McAdams and Emi-ly King; great-grandmother of Marlie, Jaxon, Roman, Payton, Ella and Ollie; sis-ter of Tom (Marce) and Dan (late Shirley) O’Brien. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at Stockton Fire Hall, 28 S. Main St., Stockton, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. NYS COVID restrictions will be ob-served. (Masks and social distancing with a maximum capacity of 50 people).
