Joana N. Van Wey

She was born in Gowanda, July 30, 1942, the daughter of Arthur L. and Ruth M. ( Linsler) Clees.

Joana worked for WNYDDSO for more than 30 years , at the time of her retirement, she worked out of the Dana Dr. group home . Joana was involved with many of the programs offered at the LK Painter Center in Collins and was of Roman Catholic faith .

Survivors include two sons: Michael (Kristen) Van Wey and Darrin N. Van Wey, all of Gowanda; grandchildren: Delaney, Jack, Devon and Ty Van Wey; along with a sister, Barbara ( Dean ) Richmond of Green Castle. Ind.; and a brother, Stuart Clees of Hamburg; nieces and nephews also survive .

Besides her parents, Joana was preceded in death by her husband ,Norman L. Van Wey (April 26, 2014); her sister, Linda Howard (March 8, 2018)’ and a nephew. Jimmy Howard (Aug. 20, 1995)

Friends may call at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME, 44 Center St., Gowanda, from 4-7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 19, where a prayer service will commence at 7 p.m. The Rev. Mitch Byeck of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church will officiate. (Face masks required.) A private burial will take place at the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church Cemetery in Langford.
