Louis Joseph ‘‘Joey’’ Calanni

Louis Joseph ”Joey” Calanni passed away after a brief illness at UPMC Chautauqua, Jamestown, N.Y., on Sept 21, 2020.

Joey was born at Brooks Hospital on Dec. 22, 1969. He is predeceased by his parents, Louis (Joyce Hobbs) Calanni and Cheryl (Fellinger) Calanni; and his brother, James ”Jimmy” Calanni.

Joey was a Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees fan. He loved his family, telling jokes and reminiscing stories starting with, “Remember when” Joey was small in stature but huge in heart. He always had a smile and optimistic attitude.

Joey worked at Tops Market, he made it “Friendly”, and retired when his body no longer allowed him to continue.

Surviving are uncles and aunts: James (Michelle) Fellinger, Lynette Calanni, Nicholas Calanni, Roger (Kathy) Calanni, Linda (Mark) Casper, Janet (Steve) Keefe, and Mary (Tom) Creagan; stepbrothers: Brian Hobbs and Kevin (Natalie) Hobbs. Special in his life were Tim (Sue) Slate. He is also survived by many cousins.

At his request, Joey’s body was donated to the University of Buffalo Medical Center.

Due to Covid-19, the family will have a memorial in the future. In lieu of flowers, take time to smile at others and do random acts of kindness in Joey’s memory.
