Richard Ernest Bromley

Richard E. Bromley, 67, of Perrysburg, N.Y. passed away early Sunday morning Oct. 4, 2020 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.Y. from heart disease and COVID-19. Richard fought long and hard until the very end.

Born in Gowanda Dec. 22, 1952 the son of Ernest and Vivian (Harvey) Bromley.

A truck driver for the Gernatt Family of Company’s (Collins), he retired after more than 20 years of employment. Dick honorably served with the U. S. Army, he enjoyed deer hunting along with repairing and restoring old tractors and lawn equipment with his longtime friend Roger Ivett.

Survivors include his wife Janice (Burek) Putney Bromley, his son Joshua (Samantha) Bromley of Glenside, Pa., grandchildren Emma and Mykayla Bromley, his mother Vivian Bromley of Perrysburg, sisters Sharon (Don) Fancher of Perrysburg, Carol (Paul Ellis) Bromley of Perrysburg , several nieces and nephews also survive along with his faithful and loving canine companion Chewy.

Dick is also survived by his step children; Robert (Elizabeth) Putney of Rochester, Michael (Melissa) Putney of Mayville , Mark (Melissa) Putney of Fredonia, step grandchildren; Cassidy, Elias and Beckett Putney, Jonathan, Lia and Bryce Satter, Devin and Quinn Putney, Tyler, Emma, Ashton and Graham Putney. Richard was brother in-law to: Donna and (Terry) Crowell of South Dayton, Dennis (Marley) Burek (long time best friend from high school) of Perrysburg, Tim (Sue) Burek of North Carolina and Susan Sysol of Georgia.

Besides his father Ernest, Richard was preceded in death by his mother in-law and father in-law Walter and Stevanna Burek.
