Carmelo Torres Sr.
Carmelo Torres Sr., 81, of Dunkirk, N.Y., passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, at home after a lengthy illness with his loving family at his side.
Carmelo was born April 25, 1939, in Jayuya, Puerto Rico and came to the Dunkirk area in 1960.
Carmelo is survived by: his wife, Daisy Torres; four children: Gloria (Angel) Gonzalez, Luz Torres (Bobby Santiago), Carmelo Torres Jr. and Carmen Torres (Ralphie Mendez); grandchildren: Jose, Justin, Steven and Paul Ruiz, Richard Echevarria Jr., Julito Dejesus, Brooklyn, Carmelo III and Sierrah Torres; great-grandchildren: Jasilyn, Haileigh and Dominic; and a sister, Carmen Aviles of Puerto Rico.
Carmelo is predeceased by his mother, Ramona Torres; his father; granddaughter. Christina Torres; a brother, Angel Hernandez; and sister, Julia DeJesus.
A private funeral mass will be held at a later date.
