Charles R. Banach
Charles R. Banach, 90, of Dunkirk died Thursday morning (Nov. 26, 2020) at Brooks Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 30, 1930 Lackawanna, N.Y., the only child of the late Belle Gizowski.
Charles had retired from True Temper and had been a volunteer fireman for Murray Hose Company No.4.
A lifetime resident of Dunkirk, he was an avid fisherman and boater.
He is survived by a daughter, Charlene (John Sr.) Haskins of Sinclairville; one son, Richard Banach of Sinclairville; five grandchildren, Dawn Johnson of Jamestown, John Haskins Jr. (Kristy) of Cherry Creek, Richard Banach II and Charles J. Banach, both of Sinclairville, and Steven Banach of Cherry Creek; and twelve great grandchildren.
Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Charles R. Banach Jr.; and a longtime companion, Bernadine Becker.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dunkirk. Arrangements are by the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
