Benjamin Michael Halas

He was born Nov. 8, 1955, to Peter and Sophie (Maslack) Halas in Dunkirk, N.Y.

Benjamin worked in the construction industry for many years, and he also graduated from Alfred State of New York with an associate degree in autobody paint and repair. He was formerly employed by Kraft Foods in Dunkirk for many years. His family formerly owned Hotel Halas in Dunkirk, N,Y.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Peter Halas Jr. and John Halas; and his brother-in-law; Jim Krzal.

Benjamin is survived by his loving family; daughter, Shannon M. Halas of Saint Cloud, Fla.; sister, Christine Krzal of Derby, N.Y.; brother, Patrick (Linda) Halas of Dunkirk, N.Y.; grandson, Ethan B. Christenberry and also his former wife, Brenda Halas, both of St. Cloud, FL. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Rosemary Halas of Dunkirk, N.Y.; and many nephews.

A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
