John H. FitzGerald

He was born March 8, 1951, in Dunkirk, the son of Ruth (Langenstein) FitzGerald of Dunkirk and the late John G. FitzGerald.

A lifelong resident of the area, John graduated from Dunkirk High School with the class of 1969 and was a U.S. Army veteran. He had been employed at Cliffstar Corporation in Dunkirk.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Amy J. (Butters) FitzGerald; one son, John FitzGerald; one stepdaughter, Janet (Willi-am) Ginnick; three step-sons: Richard (Anita) Ilecki, David (Mary) Ilecki, and Joey (Danielle) Ilecki; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; broth-er- in-law, Denis Riley; and two nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lynn Riley.

Following the guidelines and protocols administered by the governor of New York, family and friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 4, at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. Private funeral ser-vices will be held at the convenience of the family.
