Robert F. Ulmer

GOWANDA — Robert F. Ulmer, 75 of Route. 62 passed away Wednesday evening Dec. 8, 2020, at the Hospice Buffalo Palliative Care facility in Cheektowaga, surrounded by family .

Born Feb. 21, 1945, in Gowanda, the son of Gilford and Margaret (Oman) Ulmer.

Robert retired from the Buffalo Psychiatric Center where he was the acting sergeant safety officer. Robert also worked at the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center in the same capacity, his state employment spanned 40 years. Robert drove school bus for the Gowanda Central School District and worked at the former Moench Tanning in Gowanda. He enjoyed the outdoors, family camping model trains and was a past president and fire chief for the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include two daughters: Andrea M. Ulmer of West Seneca and Holly A. Ulmer of Lackawanna; two grand-children: Adam Ulmer and Catarina Sinsel. Robert is also survived by his former wife and mother of his children, MaryAnne Ulmer of West Seneca; along with three nephews and a niece .

Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Ulmer .

Friends may call Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, from 4-7 p.m., from the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St. Gowanda (face masks required) where funeral services will be held Saturday Dec. 12, 2020 at 11 a.m. Internment to follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery Gowanda .
