Nancy Hennessey

Nancy was born April 29, 1935, to Hazel (Rogger) and James Robertson. She received her master’s in early childhood education from Fredonia State University. She was an elementary school teacher and eventually retired from the Fredonia Central School District.

Nancy married James Hennessey Aug. 25, 1956.

She was a member of the Chadwick Bay Garden Club and longtime member of the Fredonia First United Methodist Church. Nancy enjoyed gardening, golf and spending time with her family.

Nancy is survived by: her son, Gregory Hennessey (Joy Wrona); her daughter, Suzzane (Kevin) Voss; daughter-in-law, Brenda Hennessey; grandchildren: Sarah (Ron) Krzal, Kendra (Chris) McLaughlin, David (Brittany) Hennessey, Patrick Hennessey (Emma Lupo), Cameron Voss and Lucas Voss; great-grandchildren: Alexa and Carter Hennessey and Matthew Krzal; cousins: Denise Griggs, Rev. Peg Harker and James Griggs.

Besides her parents, Nancy is predeceased by her husband, James Hennessey, who died April 18, 2020; and her son, Scott Hennessey, who died Sept.14, 2020.

The family would like to express a special thank you to her caregivers: Jackie Witherell and more recently Kristine Gehling and Eleanor Hobbs.
