Sadie G. Steele

Sadie was born May 21, 1923 in Brocton, N.Y. the daughter of the late Harry and Addie (West) Venn.

She finished her education at Brocton Central School and had been a life long resident of the Brocton area.

Sadie was a faithful member of the former Church of the Nazarene in Brocton, N.Y. where she was a Sunday school teacher. She took great joy in transporting the children of the church each week so they could take part in her teachings. Sadie had also volunteered for Release Time Religious Education at Brocton Central School.

She and her late husband, Ivan, could be seen every day walking in the village of Brocton no matter the weather.

Sadie was generous to those in need and enjoyed assisting charitable organizations. She enjoyed playing Domino’s with her friends and keeping in touch with all of them. She had an infectious smile that would brighten everyone’s day.

In addition to her parents, Sadie was preceded in death by her loving husband Ivan, her beloved brothers Arthur and Albert Venn, and her sister Alberta Blakely and infant sister Laura Venn.

She is further survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place at the MORSE FUNERAL HOME, 51 Highland Avenue, Brocton, N.Y. Wednesday Feb. 24, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. where funeral services will be held and officiated by the Rev. Larry Morrison of the Brocton Baptist Church. Private burial will follow in Webster Street Cemetery, Pomfret, N.Y.
