Joe Bolivard

FORT PIERCE, Fla. — Joe “DH” Bolivard, 64, of Ft. Pierce, Fla., formerly of Forestville, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021. He was born on September 4, 1956, the son of Joseph Bolivard and the late Norma (Brunson) Bolivard.

Joe graduated from Forestville Central School, Class of 1974. In his younger years, you would find Joe bartending with great enthusiasm and having jokes for all. He worked out west for a drilling company and a fire suppression company. At one time, he owned the Tavern on the Mall in Forestville. Joe was a used car salesman and “he could sell a used car to a used car salesman.” He moved to Florida in 1994 and continued his career in sales and was owner of his Shirt and Hat company.

Joe was very passionate for our country and military. He was an avid World War II buff and participated in the “Honor Flight” program. Joe was a former member of St. Peter’s Church in Forestville, the Dunkirk Conservation Club and the Fredonia Fire Department. His hobbies included golf, boating, motorcycling, traveling and of course — beer. Joe will be forever remembered for his red hair, freckles, humor, endless jokes and making everyone feel special.

Surviving besides his father are his stepmother Wilma Bolivard, his wife Cindy (Murray) Bolivard, who was the love of his life and best friend for 37 years; stepson Kent Christopher, of Fredonia; and three sisters: Sandy (Carter) Hall of Forestville, Janine (Dean) Salzman of Forestville, and Kimberly (Tim) Murphy of Williamsville. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, both by blood and love, and many, many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer, time and place to be announced. The family suggests memorials may be made either to Vero Beach Humane Society at www.hsvb.org or the Honor Flight Program at www.honorflight.org.

Local arrangements are by Riles & Woolley Funeral Home. To post condolences or memories go to www.rilesandwoolleyfuneralhome.com.
