Flora Dale Alcorn

On the morning of March 24, 2021, Flora Dale Alcorn of Ellenton, FL died at the age of 80.

Flora was born to George and Cora Whiteneck in 1940. Her early childhood was spent in Caribou, Maine and then she relocated, as a teenager, to Western New York, settling in Ripley, NY.

She drove school bus for the Ripley Central School District for 24 years.

She married Lloyd Alcorn in 1961 and raised two children, Tammy and Jeffrey.

Flora enjoyed baseball and was an avid New York Yankees fan. She rarely missed watching a game. She was a long-standing member of the Praise Cathedral Church of God. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and supporting missions. She enjoyed riding her motorcycle and long rides through the country.

Flora is preceded in death by her father, George, her mother, Cora, brothers Frank, Robert, Leon and sisters, Annabelle, Sandy, Tonia and granddaughter, Jessica.

She is survived by her two children, Tammy and Jeffrey; grandchildren, Matthew, Amanda, and Sage; and several great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A public viewing and Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on April 3, 2021 at the Praise Cathedral Church of God in Northeast, PA.

All the arrangements have been entrusted to Michael R. Fantauzzi, Director of the Mathews Funeral Home, 104 West Main Street, Ripley, NY.
