Margaret Ann Luce

Margaret was born on September 5, 1935, to the late Erhard and Isabella (Eckle) Ries.

She was the eldest of six and was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert E. Luce of Gowanda, NY.

Margaret is survived by her son, Vincent and Heather Luce of Westfield, NY; and her loving grand-daughters Kaitlyn Dalton, and Brooke and Raegan Luce. She is also survived by her stepdaughter Roberta (Luce) Sawyer of Gowanda.

Grandma Margaret will always love her grand-daughters and their playful, energetic and cheerful voices forever. She was very proud of each and every one of you.

Also surviving are her brothers, George Ries of Perrysburg; Edward (Sandy) Ries of Florida; three sisters, Mary (Clarence) Miller of Maryland; Kathryn (Kenneth) Barstow of South Carolina and JoAnne (Patrick) Sheehan of Oregon.

Margaret was an inspiration to her entire family and enjoyed very close relationships with her siblings and her many nieces, nephews and great nieces, nephews. She loved each and every one of you considerably. Margaret retired from the Gowanda Psychiatric Center after 32 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and oil painting; but mostly, spending time with her family and friends.

Margaret courageously battled life-long physical disabilities and decided to donate her body to the UB Anatomical Gift Program. She prayed that in some way, her donation will help another person or a child recover from a serious health problem.

The family will hold a celebration of life to be announced at a future date and time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice Chautauqua County Inc., Perrysburg Vol. Fire Dept., or the Westfield Vol. Fire Dept.
