Demaris C. Lasch

She was born in Buffalo N.Y., on Aug. 30, 1925, the daughter of George C. Carlin and Maybelle (Wade) Carlin.

She was educated in Buffalo schools and after graduation took a job as a long-distance operator for New York Telephone. During this period of her life, she met and married her husband of 68 years, Herman “Bob” Lasch. They were wed on Nov. 25, 1948.

In 1953 she left New York Telephone and moved with her husband to the Dunkirk-Fredonia area. She would commit the rest of her life to being the best wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and caregiver she possible could.

She had a life-long love of books, music, theater, history and design. But she will be remembered as a loving, kind, and generous person, who touched others with her quiet ways.

She is survived by her children: Claudia (Gary) Deiboldt of Albion N.Y., Todd (Wendy) Lasch of Fredonia, Demaris A. Lasch of Buffalo, and James Lasch of Fredonia. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Demaris was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
