Mary Margaret ‘Peg’ Watkins

Born in Gowanda, NY the daughter of Edward and Helen (Bruce) Campbell July 12, 1950.

Peg married William E. Watkins at the former Perrysburg United Methodist Church on August 24, 1968.

A Town Clerk for the Town of Perrysburg, Peg retired after nearly 30 years of service. Prior to her employment with the town she worked at the Gowanda Electronics.

Peg was a member of the Perrysburg Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary for many years. She and her husband were members of the Gowanda United Methodist Church and enjoyed wintering in Crystal River, Fla.

Peg was a loving wife, mother grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter,and friend. She will be missed.

Surviving besides her husband of nearly 53 years are their children: Mary (Lester) Jones of Gowanda, Patricia (James) Bucci of Sebastian, Fla, Cynthia (Mike) Arrigo of Perrysburg, and William II (Jamie) Watkins of Perrysburg. Peg had 12 loving grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren along with a brother Edward Campbell of Oswego. Peg’s mother-in-law Alma (late Kenneth) Watkins of Perrysburg also survives as does several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents Peg was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Bruce, George and Richard Campbell.

As per Peg’s request a private family burial to take place in the West Perrysburg Cemetery.

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will take place Sunday May 23, 2021 at the Perrysburg Vol. Fire Dept 12007 Main Street from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m. Please bring a memory to share.
