Josephine “Josie” Catherine (Kozlowski) Bielaszka

Josie was born Nov. 13, 1920 in Dunkirk, N.Y., to Joseph and Sophia Kozlowski.

She worked for Van Raalt Company and Ross’s Restaurant in Dunkirk, then at the Colony House Restaurant in Irving and many years at Shorewood Country Club in Dunkirk. Josie had a “green thumb” and grew beautiful roses.

Josephine is survived by and resided with her daughter, Carol Gaddis, in Fredonia, N.Y. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Ziemba of Dunkirk; brother, Joseph Kozlowski of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, Edmund “Lefty” Bielaszka of 50 years’ an infant daughter, Sharon; her brother, Chester, and five sisters: Lottie Gervase, Florence Jagoda, Victoria Stelmach, Gertrude Majka and Theresa Kawski.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30 at Larson-Timko Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seaton Church, 328 Washington Ave., Dunkirk, N.Y. 14048 at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021. Interment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Bennett Road, Dunkirk, N.Y.
