John Noble
BROCTON – John Noble, 82, of Highland Ave., Brocton, N.Y., passed away peacefully at home Thursday morning, July 1, 2021, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease with his devoted fiance and caregiver, Diana at his side.
John was born Nov. 17, 1938, in Lamberton, N.Y., to the late George “Stub” and Ruth (Crager) Noble.
He attended Brocton Central School and then went on to serve his country with the U.S. Navy as a SEABEE from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1961. He spent a lot of his time stationed in Barbados.
John was a member of the Westerners and was also an award winning sharp shooter. One of his many achievements was that he had shot a perfect score of 400 while he was a member of the Chautauqua County Rifle League.
He was a faithful member of the Tri-Church Parish of Brocton, N.Y., and other memberships included life member of the NRA, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 118 of Westfield, the Fredonia Beaver Club, the Con-club of Dunkirk, N.Y., the Moniuszko Club also of Dunkirk, and American Legion Post 434 of Brocton, N.Y. His passion for teaching and coaching youth in the area will be remembered by those he coached , whether it was Babe Ruth, varsity baseball, slow pitch or fast pitch softball, John enjoyed the sport and won several trophies. He was an avid Harley-Davidson rider, where he and Diana rode throughout the south west with close friends as they were snowbirds for 17 years in Tuscon, Ariz., and especially enjoyed the bike trip to Yellowstone and Sturgis for bike week.

John had been employed by NYSDOT as a laborer until his retirement and then drove school bus for Laidlaw, First Student, and Brocton Central School. And finally, he drove for CARTS.
Most of all, John’s favorite times were the moments spent with his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Ruth Carrizales, of Brocton, Kate (Laird) Eppinger, Chris (Judson) Dahl of Westfield, Julie “Toad” Noble of Brocton, N.Y.; and stepson, James Spinuzza, Jr. of Portland, N.Y.; his loving grandchildren: Holly Gates, Lara Whitesell, Joshua Eppinger, Bradley and Johnna Lucas, Marcus and Michael Carrizales, Alexis and Tayler Appel, Madison and Tanner Dahl and Kyle Markham; 10 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Katherine (William) Thies of Perrysburg, and brother, Robert (Sandra) Noble of Lamberton, N.Y.; and faithful canine “Chewie”.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by two brothers: Richard and William Noble.
Per Johns wishes, funeral services will be held privately with burial and full military honors in Webster Street Cemetery, Webster Rd., Pomfret, N.Y.
A celebration of John’s life with reunion and refreshments and lite dinner will be held at the Nickel Plate Depot, 131 Central Ave., Brocton, N.Y., at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.
