Dorothy R. Adams

Dorothy R. Adams, 95 passed away on Oct 22, 2020, at Absolut Care Aurora Park in East Aurora, N.Y., after a brief illness.

Dorothy was born in Verdun, Quebec, Canada on April 16, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Walter H. and Annie (Labournie) Walsh.

Dorothy was a proud Canadian and a sergeant in the Canadian Women’s Army Corp (CWAC).

She married her former husband, Christy Adams on Feb. 6, 1946. Shortly after that they moved to Dun-kirk, where Christy had grown up.

In between raising her five children, Dorothy was employed at Kresges, Ludlums, Kosciusko Club, Dunkirk Public Schools and SUNY at Fredonia, N.Y.,, where she retired from in the early 1990s.

Dorothy was involved in the Number Six School’s Mother’s Club when her children were young. She was a member of the Kosciusko Club, Dom Polski along with senior clubs. Dorothy did enjoy going on her senior trips.

Dorothy’s interests included sewing, knitting, crocheting, playing pinochle and baking. Especially her Christmas cookies. She loved getting together with family and friends for any celebration even the prompt to picnics at Point Gratiot Park. The more the merrier. Dorothy watched most of the home Buffalo Sabres games to hear the singing of O Canada. The Canadian National Anthem.

Dorothy was a loving caring daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother, sister, sister-in-law, neighbor and friend to all.

Dorothy is survived by her children: daughters: Barbara (Errol) Usselman and Susan (late Ronald) Causey; sons: David W. Adams and Robert J. (Kimberly) Adams; grand- children: Kimberly (Brett) Blackburn, Janine (Lou) Perez, Katherine Adams (Ben Frable), Elizabeth (Rick) Smith, Margaret (Nathan) Sublett, Brian (Kimberli) Usselman, Lau-ra Usselman (Carmen Zarrillo Jr.), Rhonda Beck, Marie (Kyle) Stallings and Elyssa (Brandon) Stoddard; great-grandchildren: Henry Hopkins, Cassidy Hopkins, Kaleb (Ashley) Perez, Joshua Perez, Daniel Perez, Morgan Usselman, Adam Usselman, Zoe Zarrillo, Babe Beck, Sydney Tho-masson, Lana Thomasson; Tucker Stallings and Shay Ruth Stallings; great-great-grandchildren: Kaden Perez and Brinley Perez; sisters : Phyllis (late William) Dillabough, Rita (late Charles) Sayyeau; and many nieces, nephews and cousins; along with Judy Adams, Rita Eckstrom, Nancy Ni-hols and Sallie and Joe Muscato

Dorothy is predeceased in death by her parents, Walter H. and Annie (Labournie) Walsh; son, Harold W. Adams (2016); sisters: Christina (late Robert) Neuman and Mil-dred (late Jack) King; her former husband, Christy Adams; special friend, Raymond (Red) Woloszyn

Private services were held in August at the Willowbrook Park Cemetery in Dunkirk, N.Y.
