CATTARAUGUS — Judy D. Johnston, 70, of Linlyco Lake Road, Cattaraugus, passed away Monday, September 20th, 2021 at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, due to complications of COPD. She was born in Gowanda, on May 28, 1951, the daughter of the late Elwood C. Hilliman and Janet F. (Wickmark) Hans. Judy was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1969 and graduated from JBC in 1995 with an Associates Degree in Accounting.

She worked as a Direct Service Aide for WNYDDSO Little Valley, for 23 years, retiring in 2006. Judy originally started with the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center in Food Service and then transferred to Group Homes.

She enjoyed doing cross-stitch, going to the Casino and on road trips. Judy especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her loving husband Matthew J. Johnston of Cattaraugus, whom she married on February 14, 2002, in Ni-gara Falls, NY, three de-voted children Duane Beaver, of South Dayton; Carrie Strawder, of South Dayton; Calista (Jim) Burtis, of Dunkirk; two sisters, Cindy Van Ens, of Lakeland, FL; Debbie (Mike) McLaughlin, of Zephyrhills, FL. three brothers, Fred (Linda) Hilliman, of Conewango; Barry (Mary) Hilliman, of Selma, AL and Leo Hans, of Seffner, FL; Also surviving are five grandchildren James Micheal Strawder, Nathan Strawder, Samantha Beaver, Heavyn Acosta and Savannah Steves and three great grandchildren Eli, Arabella and Emmett. Be-sides her parents she was predeceased by her step-father Leo Hans, a sister Patricia Hilliman and a brother Martin Hilliman.

Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Friday from 3-5 PM, from where a Celebration of Life will follow at 5 PM with Rev. David Watson, pastor of the Sheridan United Methodist Church, officiating. The family suggests memorials may be made to Any local Humane Societies.
