Rudolph “Pete” Brown, 83, passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 20, 2021.

He was born July 20, 1938, in Brocton, N.Y., the son of the late Rudolph and Rose Brown.

A lifelong resident of Chautauqua County, Pete graduated from Brocton High School in 1957. That same year, he began his 51-year career with National Fuel Gas, formerly known as Iroquois Gas. He retired in 2009 as a senior serviceman out of the Dunkirk Service Center.

Pete was known to play a mean game of pinochle. He spent much of his life fishing on Bear Lake. When in the presence of children and animals, he had a Pied Piper effect and truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include three children: Susan (Kim) Jones of Southwest Ranches, Fla., Jeff (Michelle) Brown of Richmond, Va., and Ann (Dave) Renckens of Fredonia, N.Y.; three grandchildren; Nicholas (Angelica) Renckens, Benjamin Renckens and Summer Brown; one sister, Beverly; and nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Wells.

The family is deeply grateful to all those who provided unconditional love and support to Pete along his life journey. Special appreciation goes to Nicole Gardner.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to Ahira Hall Memorial Library, P.O. Box Q, Brocton, NY 14716.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home.
