FORESTVILLE — Dean E. Newton, 59, of Dennison Road, Forestville, passed away Thursday, Sept. 30, 202,1 at Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, Mass. He was born in Silver Creek, on Oct. 10, 1961, the son of the late Carlton L. and Madeline A. (Mason) Newton.
Dean was a class of 1979 graduate of Forestville Central School, dedicated 41 years to his passion as a plumbing technician for Fredonia Heating and Plumbing in Fredonia.
He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Dean was a diehard Bills fan and attended many Country & 80s music concerts. He was very proud of his children and adored his granddaughter. In previous years, he dedicated his spare time to coaching his son’s little league baseball team for four years and enjoyed watching his children play sports growing up.
Survivors include his love of his life, Gretchen M. (Potmesil) Newton of Forestville, whom he married in 1983, in Forestville; a daughter, Nicolette Newton of Mary Esther, Fla.; a son, Nathan Newton of Cattaraugus; and a brother, Bruce Newton of Sheridan. Also surviving are a grand-daughter, Sophia Batiste.
Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main St., Forestville, on Friday from 4-7 p.m., from where funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11 a.m., with the Rev. David Watson, pastor of the Sheridan United Methodist Church officiating. Interent will follow in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Town of Hanover.
