Marlene L. Robbins

Marlene L. Robbins, 88, of Westfield, N.Y., passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, at her home with her family at her side.

She was born on Aug. 4, 1933, in Dewittville, N.Y., the daughter of the late George and Vesta (Wellmon) Loomis. On Sept. 1, 1951, she married Edward “Bud” Robbins in the Dewittville Methodist Church in Dewittville, N.Y., and he preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 2020.

She is survived by a son, Scott (Laurie) Robbins of Westfield; two cherished grandchildren: Kathryn (Christopher) Cardo and Andrew (Emilee) Robbins of Westfield, N.Y.; a sister, Alice Wannenwetsch of Milford, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Edward “Bud” Robbins; a son, Gary Robbins; two brothers: William and Philip Loomis; and two sisters: Keta Lord and Oleta Crandall.

Marlene was a 1951 graduate of Mayville High School. She was employed by Welch Foods in Brocton and Westfield, Belknap Business Forms of Westfield and the Village of Westfield in the administration office, retiring in 1995 with 20 years of service.

She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Westfield since 1963, she sang in the church choir and played the organ for several years, past member of the Westfield Community Chorus, Women of Moose, past member of the Sassy Singers of FLA., Tower Lakes Ladies Golf League, prior member of the Union Relief in Westfield, Lake Wales, Fla., Chapel, where she was a substitute organist and choir member.

Marlene loved spending time with her grandchildren, music, golfing, gardening and antiques.

At Marlene’s request there will be no visitation and all services will be private.
