SILVER CREEK — Norman R. Grapes, 93, formerly of No. Tonawan-da, Boston, N.Y. and Col-lins, passed away Thursday Sept. 30, 2021, at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dun-kirk , N.Y.

Born in North Tonawan-da, N.Y., Sept. 15, 1928, the son of Norman Sr. And Marian (Cultler ) Grapes.

Norman married the former Josephine Rossi on Oct. 28, 1950, in North Tonawanda. Josephine passed away Nov. 13, 2011. Norman found love again when he married the former Sylvia Farnham Ga-bel who too became a widow around the same time as Norman . They both shared many happy years together, they were married Sept. 21, 2013, at the Epi-phany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Lang-ford.

Besides his wife, Sylvia, Norman is survived by four sons: Gary Grapes of Bos-ton, N.Y., Dennis (late Karen) Grapes of Virginia, Patrick Grapes of Boston, N.Y., and David Grapes also of Boston, N.Y.; daughter, Amy (Arthur) MacFarland of North Tonawanda ; 11 grandchil-dren and 13 great’ grandchildren; along with a brother, James Grapes of South Carolina and a broth-er, Robert Grapes of North Carolina, Several nieces and nephews survive along with Sylvia’s children and grandchildren .

Norman retired from Gasoline Retailers of Western NY, where he was the executive director of the company. Norman and Syl-via were faithful and dedi-cated members of the Epi-phany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Lang-ford .

Friends may call Friday Oct. 8, 2021, at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St. Go-wanda from 4-7 p.m. (Masks required if not fully vaccinated). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021 at 11 a.m. from the Epiphany of Our Lord Ro-man Catholic Church 10893 Sisson Hgwy (Rte 75) in (Langford) North Collins , NY 14111. (Please assemble at church.) Burial to follow in the church cemetery (St. Martins Cemetery) .
