Thomas A. Skowronski “Chooch”

GOWANDA — Thomas A. Skowronski, 77 of Gowanda, passed away Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y.

Born in Buffalo on Nov. 20, 1943, the son of Leo and Dorothy (Bakowski) Skowronski.

Tom honorably served with the U. S. Army from 1962-68 during the Vietnam War.

Tom retired from Bethlehem Steel in Lackawana, where he worked in the bar mill, galvanizing mill and coke ovens .

Survivors include his children: Troy ( lexandria MacDonald) Skowronski of Franklinville, and Tarin Skowronski of Dunkirk; stepdaughter, Michelle (Justin) Lewis of Cottage; nibe grandchildren; a brother, Dennis (Peggy) Skowronski of Tampa, Fla.; and a sister, Sandy Morton of Elma. Nieces and nephews also survive . Tom shared his life with Judy Pawlak for many years .

Besides his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a daughter, Tezia Skowronski ( May 26, 2014) .

Friends may call at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME 44 Center St., Gowanda from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021. A service for Tom will commence at 1 p.m., from the funeral home. (masks required if not fully vaccinated). Burial at a later time and at the family’s convenience .

Memorials , if desired , may be made to a local charity of ones choice .
