Jane C. (Genthner) DeLand
Jane C. (Genthner) DeLand, 81, of East Main Road, Brocton, N.Y., was reunited by death with the love of her life and husband of 55 years, LaVerne DeLand, on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021, with her loving family at her side.
She was born in North Tonawanda, N.Y., on July 18, 1940. Daughter of the late Betty (Gallagher) Kieryczek and Arthur Genthner. She attended Westfield Academy and Central School.
Jane and her husband raised four children and she loved being a mother and homemaker. She had a passion for and was an amazing gardener. She could frequently be found weeding, planting and watering her flowers. Family beach vacations were some of her fondest memories. Along with camping and reminiscing around a fire, she also enjoyed cooking and baking for family get-to-gethers, cleaning her home, going to casinos and watching Fox News (MAGA). Although she missed her husband so much, her family brought her great happiness.
Predeceased by her husband, LaVerne L. DeLand: brothers: William and Robert Genthner; and great-grandson, Graeson Laverne DeLand, who died at infancy.
Jane is survived by her children: Michael, Craig (Kelly), Lynn and Michelle DeLand; 13 grandchildren: Elisha (Sean) Eisnor, Danny (Keshia), Steven, Taylor, and Bradley Seavy. Abbigale, Hunter, Elleigh, Ryan (Riley), MacKenzie, and Madison (Tony Swierk) DeLand, Garrett (Jenna) and Travis (Brookelyn) Rammelt; nine great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Jaxon, Olivia, Alison, Vivian, Leenah, Lyra, Preston and Reagan.
She is also survived by her loving sister, Diane (Genthner) Coale; Sister-in- law, Phyllis (Bob) Genthner and brother-in-law, Jack (Donna) Benson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jane proudly donated her body to the University at Buffalo Anatomical Gift Program.
