Joseph John Laurie

He was born in Jamestown, on April 8, 1956, the son of Mike S. Laurie and the late Constance (Ruszaj) Laurie.

He was a graduate of Forestville Central School, N.Y., and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Joe owned and operated Hot Stuff restaurant in Fredonia, N.Y., before moving to North Carolina. On the Carolina coast Joe ran a commercial fishing operation with his son.

He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, boating, cooking and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his brother, Michael (Kimberly) Laurie of Florida.; sons: Mitchell C. Laurie of Aurora, N.C., and JonMichael (Davette) Laurie of Wilmington, N.C.; grandson, Chance D. Laurie; nieces: Michaela Pirk and Mackenzie Laurie.

A private celebration of life service will be held by his family.
