William J. Chant

William J. Chant, 76, of Buffalo Road, Irving N.Y., passed away on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at his home, after battling COPD and cancer, with his loving wife by his side.

He was born in Dunkirk, N.Y., on Sept. 17, 1945, to George and Mary (Bojar) Chant.

He graduated from Fredonia High School in 1963, and on May 27, 1967, he married the love of his life Katherine (Miller) Chant.

Bill worked for the Aldrich Dairy drive-thru store and later a pressman at Great Lakes Color Printing for over 20 years until their closure, after he drove Semi for Petri Baking Products for several years and eventually for Heil Transportation while farming in between for several years.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Katherine; one son, Bob (Jean) Chant of Myrtle Beach S.C.; two daughters: Jennie (Mike Palumbo) Chant Walker of Rochester N.Y., and Rebecca (Richard) Chant Mielcarek of Midway, Tenn.; grandchildren; Brian (Ashley) Chant, Eric and Matthew Chant, Trey Walker and Damian Scott Southard; two great-gran-dchildren; Nicholas and Devan Chant; plus several nieces and nephews

In addition to his parents, Mary and George, he is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brianna; and his brother, Donald.

Bill has donated his body to science at the University at Buffalo Foundation-Anatomical gift program.
