Rose C. (Alaimo) Epolito

Rose was born on Jan. 27, 1926, to the late Joseph and Josephine (Marturana) Alaimo. She attended Fredonia Schools.

An area resident her entire life, she worked as a nurse’s aide at the former Chautauqua County Home, retiring in 1979.

Rose adored her family and will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners for her family, reading and playing cards.

Surviving are her children: Peter Epolito and Jane Lilly, “Nan” is also survived by her five grandchildren: Paula Epolito, Steven (Jennifer) Lilly, Susan Lilly, Danielle Epolito and Gary J Epolito II. “Big Nana” is also survived by six greatgrandchildren: Jacob Lilly, Jacinda Mekus, Emma Lilly, Camille Epolito, Nicholas Lilly and Ryan Mendez. Rose is also survived by a brother, Charles Alaimo; a sister, Delores Borello; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Peter A. Epolito, whom she married on Jan. 4, 1947; two children: Gary J. Epolito and Linda Epolito; her daughter in law, Mary Ellen Epolito; three brothers: Samuel, Russel and Joseph Alaimo; and two sisters: Ann Dimossimo and Laura Piatz.

A prayers service will service will be held at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia, N.Y., on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at 4 p.m, followed by visitation at the funeral home until to 6 p.m.
