Sandra Ann (Thompson) Gregoreski

Sandy was born in Dunkirk on Nov. 7, 1944, to Patricia Ann (Palmer) and Thomas L. Thompson.

Survivors include daughter, Lisa (Tony) Nasca of Fredonia; sons: Joey T. Wdowiasz of Brocton, Timothy J. (Kate) Wdowiasz of Dunkirk, and William G. Wdowiasz of Dunkirk; and grandchildren, Carley (Alex) Nasca-Jadrich, Torrie and Valeri Nasca, Gracie Wdowiasz and Trevin Wdowiasz.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to family friends: Dawn and Debbie for all their help throughout the years.

Despite all of Sandy’s disabilities and complications due to her illness since 1990, she always stayed positive and made the best of every situation. Sandy enjoyed being surrounded by her family and her grandchildren, which she adored.

Sandy was an avid lover of animals, especially her cats and numerous dogs throughout the years. She also enjoyed birdwatching, collecting angels figurines and reading through her cookbooks always looking for new delish meals.

Sandy was a member of Blessed Mary Angela Parish and American Legion Post 62 Dunkirk.

Sandy was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Michael S. Gregoreski, whom she married in 1977. He was her best friend and helped care for her until his passing in 1999. Sandy was also predeceased by her daughter, Jody L. Wdowiasz, who passed away in 1987.

A celebration of life mass will be held her honor Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Blessed Mary Angela Parish in Dunkirk.
