FORESTVILLE — Betty J. Kuzora, 91, of Main Street, Forestville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at Chautauqua Nursing & Rehab Center, Dunkirk, following a lengthy illness.

She was born in the town of Hanover, on January 20, 1931, the daughter of the late Truman and Edith (Congdon) Ferry.

She was a graduate of Forestville Central School, class of 1948. Betty owned and operated the former Collector’s Corners on Main Street in Forestville. She previously owned the former Forestville Variety Store and worked for Jim Cave in the original Caves store, both on Main Street. Betty was a member of J. Carter Knapp American Legion Post 953, Forestville Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed going to yard sales, collecting antique glassware and dishes, watching the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres, playing bingo and going to the casinos.

She was the loving mother of Leonard H. (Virginia) Kuzora of Fredonia and Brenda Reinermann of Kemp, Texas; and loving grandmother of Kelly (Jonathan) Halvorsen and Keith (Dorothy) Kuzora. Also surviving is a brother- in-law, Major Williams of Alabama; a great-granddaughter, Harper Kuzora; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Leonard L. “Hank” Kuzora, whom she married on July 2, 1949, in the Forestville Baptist Church, and who died May 9, 2019; two brothers: Lyle and Richard Ferry; and a sister, Sharon Williams.

Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main St., Forestville, on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. from where funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Darlene Meeder, pastor of the Forestville United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Forestville Cemetery.
