John L. Terry

John L. Terry, 75 of Endicott, N.Y. Husband of Candice A. Terry, died Thursday, Feb. 17,2022, at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, N.Y.

Born May 5 1946, in Dunkirk N.Y., the son of Edward and Harriet Tarbox Terry.

John was a 1964 graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School and a gradute of SUNY Morrisville where he was a member of the Cherry Valley Timers Car Club.

John served in the U.S. Army’s 10th Special Forces stationed in Germany from 1967-69 with missions from Europe to Southeast Asia.

Playing golf and wood carving were just a couple of things John loved to do, also he enjoyed landscaping and gardening, also volunteering for Habitat with his wife, Candy. He would make unique carvings from golf balls. John was great with tools and loved wood working, crafts and shared his talents with many.

John worked in maintenance, positions at IBM in Endicott, Catholic Schools of Broome County and at Door Fab of Binghamton N.Y. John had a love of cars and auto racing.

Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Candice A Terry; a son, Phillip G Terry Somerset N.J. and Michael R. (GIA) Jackson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four daughters: Shayne (Jason) Prince of Binghamton, N.Y., Shawn M. Simmons, Julie A. Terry of Florida. and Renee T. Kelly of Auburn, N.Y.

John had eleven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a sister, Marna Terry Wolaver; two brothers: Sidney (Joanne) Terry and Phillip (Shelby) Terry, both of Wisconsin.

At John’s request no funeral or visitation will be observed. He will be laid to rest at the Bath National Cemetery.
