William R. ‘Billy’ Newman II

WESTFIELD — William R. ‘Billy’ Newman II, 46, of Westfield, NY passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 8, 2022, in Westfield Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Billy was born August 17, 1975, in Westfield, NY the son of William R. and Mary Riefstahl.

He attended Brocton Central School with the class of 1993 and played football with the Brocton Bulldogs.

Billy had been employed by Nestle Purina in Dunkirk, NY as a production worker.

He would light up the room when he entered it. He had a contagious smile and great sense of humor.

Billy loved all kinds of music and was a well known DJ in the area known as ‘DJ Worm’. He played throughout the county for wedding receptions, local clubs or parties of any occasion.

He was an avid Los Angeles Raiders football fan and loved to taunt Buffalo Bills fans in his circle. He was a fan of Batman and had a tattoo to prove it.

Most of all, Billy loved his family and friends. Those close to him could refer to him as ‘Wee’ or ‘the Worm.’

Billy is survived by his father William, his mother Mary (David) Holzwasser, sister Alesia (Ben) Farnham, nephew Logan Farnham, and his faithful canine companion “Jackson” and feline friend “Muff”.

He was preceded in death by his God father Robert Riefstahl and his aunt Betsy Furman.

Friends and family may call at the MORSE FUNERAL HOME, 51 High-land Avenue, Brocton, NY on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, from 4 – 7 pm. Interment will be Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 12:00 pm in Portland Ever-green Cemetery with Pastor Charles Robertson of the West Portland Baptist Church officiating. A celebration of life will follow at the West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 East Route 20, Westfield, NY 14787.
