Johanna Kelly

Johanna Kelly, age 83, was born in Dunkirk, NY on April 18, 1938, passed away peacefully at home on April 9, 2022, in Orange Park, Florida.

Johanna is a graduate of D’Youville College receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1959. She worked as a Histologic Technician in Buffalo, NY throughout her 35 years in Pathology, retiring from Our Lady of Victory Hospital.

A loving mother and friend, Johanna was always up for an adventure. Her passions ran from dealing in antiques and collectables once owning her own secondhand store, Peddler Jo in the late 70’s, to animal rescue where she volunteered countless hours at an animal rescue in Daytona Beach, Fl. She opened her heart and home to many homeless cats believing all animals deserved a loving home. She was a dedicated sports fan always rooting for her Cleveland Indians and never missed watching the Kentucky Derby.

Johanna is predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Victoria Kosciuszko, and her late husband James D. Kelly. Beloved mother of Kathryn Poynton and Jennifer (Chris) Gammill; devoted grandmother of Sarah and Rachel; dear sister of Celine (late Carl) Retzer and the late Marcel Kosciuszko; adored aunt of Theresa (Scott) Iggulden, Michael (Deborah) Retzer and Matthew Retzer; great-aunt of Timothy Retzer, as well as her cat Jo-Jo.

No prior visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Friday morning, April 29th, at 9:30 AM, in Resurrection Roman Catholic Church, 130 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, 14227.
