WESTFIELD – Martha T. ‘Marty’ (Kaiser) Morrell, 91, of Westfield, N.Y., passed away peacefully Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Absolut Care at Westfield, following a brief illness.

Martha was born Feb. 17, 1931, in Dayton, N.Y., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Agnes (Roemer) Kaiser.

She attended Westfield Central School and graduated with the class of 1949. On June 27, 1953, she married Louis S. Morrell at St. James Roman Catholic Church in Westfield, N.Y. They were married for 41 years when Louis passed away.

Marty had worked at the Westfield Newsroom and bus station on Main Street in Westfield, N.Y. After years of working there she went to work at Bud’s Carriage House restaurant on Fluvanna Avenue in Jamestown, N.Y., for many years until its closure then worked at Red Lobster in Lakewood, N.Y., retiring as a waitress at the young age of 77. She enjoyed meeting new people and always served them with a smile on her face.

Marty had a love for all animals, especially her cats. She tended to her animals on the farm for most of her life. She was known for her famous peanut butter fudge which was a handed down ‘secret recipe’ that was gift-ed to friends throughout the country. She also enjoyed gardening, crocheting and most of all spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents and loving husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Steven A. Morrell, who passed away March 8, 2016; and her son-in-law, James J. Farrell who died Jan. 6, 2021.

Left behind to cherish her memories are her daughter, Wendy Farrell; her five grandchildren: Season, Jessica, Timothy, Stacy and Steve; her loving nine great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Deb Morrell; and her lifelong companion, whom she lived with for 17 years, Linda Kelley.

Martha graciously donated her body to the University of Buffalo’s Anatomical Gift Program in hopes of bettering others in their own life.
