Patricia E. Hinkley

Born in Franklinville, N.Y., on March 19, 1932. The daughter of William and Lorena (Walsh) Niles.

Patricia graduated from the former Ten Broeck Academy in Franklinville, class of 1949. She married Donald G. Hinkley at her parents house in Franklinville, on May 16, 1959.

Pat worked at the former Rich, Young and Perrigo Insurance Office for more than 30 years before her retirement.

Pat and her husband were both members of the First Presbyterian Church in Gowanda, where Pat served on the Board of Deacons, she was a 70 plus year member of the Loyal Order of the Eastern Star, she also was a long standing member of the American Legion Post 409 Ladies Auxiliary in Gowanda. An avid bowler, Pat was recognized as a Premier Bowler for the State.

Pat and Don would winter in Florida, they called Jensen Beach home during the cold New York months where Pat was treasurer for the Holiday Out Community.

Surviving besides her husband, Donald of 63 years are their sons; Kevin (Barbara) Hinkley of Ballston Lake, N.Y., and Donald (Susan) Hinkley of East Amherst, N.Y. Pat is also survived by six grandchildren: William Haskas, Sean Hinkley, Meghan Forcier, Ryan, Kara and Abby Hinkley along with seven greatgrandchildren; Lucien, Declan, Ruth, Grace, Lorelei, Marlowe and Willoughby along with nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Pat was preceded in death by two brothers; Warren “Bill” Niles and Harold “Bud” Niles.

Friends may call at the SCHINDLER FUNERAL HOME, 44 Center St., Gowanda from 5-8 p.m., on Tuesday (mask wearing if not vaccinated). The Loyal Order of the Eastern Star will conduct a prayer at 7:30 p.m. Pat’s funeral will be Wednesday April 27, 2022 at 11a.m. from the funeral home . Interment in the Little Valley Rural Cemetery.
