Julio Rivera

Julio Rivera, 68, a resident of Ellerslie, Georgia, died at his residence on May 12, 2022. He was born on December 2, 1953, in Dunkirk, New York to Guillermo Rivera and Aurea DeJesus Rivera.

Julio was a 1973 graduate of Cardinal Mindszenty High School and with his artistic talent he designed the cover of the Class of 1973 Yearbook for his classmates. Julio served in the U.S. Army and was Honorably Discharged. Julio later attended Fredonia State College in Fredonia, New York and graduated with a bachelor’s degree. He then moved back to Georgia where he continued to live.

He is predeceased by both parents, his spouse Marylyn Bomasuto Rivera and an infant son, Levon. He is survived by four children, Joel (Carmen) Rivera and Ivy Rivera of Dunkirk, New York, Renee (Carlos Pesantes) of New York City and Justin (Paige Baggett Rivera) Rivera of Alabama. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren.

He is also survived by 7 siblings, William (Patricia) Rivera, Louis (Yolanda) Rivera, Maria and Michael Flaherty of Florida, David Rivera of Rochester, New York, Zoraida and Fred Dziduch of Dunkirk, Aurea and Charles Neal of Tuscon, Arizona and Edwin Rivera of Florida.

He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date at the convenience of the family.
