Elizabeth O. (Parks) Mosher 1937 – 2022

Elizabeth O. (Parks) Mosher, 85, of South Dayton, N.Y., entered into rest June 13, 2022

She was born Jan. 16, 1937, in Olean, N.Y., to the late Howard and Isabelle (Job) Parks.

Elizabeth’s father was a pastor and they lived in several communities in WNY. She graduated from Pine Valley High School and had a year of nurses training in Rochester, NY.

She married Everett Mosher on June 3, 1955 and became a very faithful and hardworking farm wife. They operated Maple Lane farms for 53 years. She took business courses and became the bookkeeper for the business. She was instrumental in the growth of the farm from about 300 acres to over 1200 acres

Betsy had special interest in riding horses and raising sheep other hobbies included photography, gardening, making maple syrup, wild life conservation and she was a prodigious reader.

She was an active member of the East Leon Wesleyan Church. Through correspondence courses she became a deaconess. Elizabeth had many roles in the church as a Sunday school teacher, a pianist/organist, a board member and church secretary serving for many years.

She is survived by two sons: Everett N (Tammy) Mosher Jr. and Kenneth D. (Dottie) Mosher, both of South Dayton, N.Y.; a daughter, Sharon L (C. Russell) Leigon of The Woodlands, Texas; six granddaughters: Bridget L. (Eddie) Mosher, Megan K. (Scott) Mosher, Sidney M. ( TJ) Mosher, Kelley M. (Nate) St John, Paige A. Mosher and Allison R. (Nicholas) Smith; four grandsons: Rolfe E. (Jenna) Mosher, K. David (Avis) Mosher, H. Daniel E. Mosher and C. Ryan Leigon; 12 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Isobelle (Peachy) Murray, Sandra (Robert) Blake, James (Connie) Parks, Fredrick (Beth) Parks, Sara (Edwin) Johnson, Paul Parks and Connie (Charlie) Smith; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett N. Mosher Sr.; her sister: Marilyn Hess; and her brother, Norman Parks.

Relatives and friends may visit DiStasio Funeral Home 478 Route 83 at Balcom Corners South Dayton, Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at East Leon Wesleyan Church 7996 Mosher Hollow Road, Cattaraugus, N.Y., at 11 a.m. with Pastor Karen Cleveland officiating.

Interment will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
