Frank Nappo

Frank Nappo of Silver Creek passed away on June 15th, 2022. Beloved Husband of Beverly Rae Nappo (nee Stoll); devoted Father of Frank Nappo, Allyson (David) McNamara, Beverly Dillenburg, Robert (Jennifer) Nappo and James (Erica) Nappo; cherished grandfather of Jule Basil, Hannah Lopez, Haley McNamara, Kenneth Dillenburg, Sophia Nappo, James Nappo, Fiona Nappo, Peyton Nappo, Rylan Nappo and Dominic Nappo and great-grandfather of Ellina Lopez; loving brother of Carmella Tampio, S. William Nappo, late Mary Nappo, late Shirley Barris, and late Diane Johnson; also survived by nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Frank graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1954 and displayed strong leadership qualities throughout his academic career. He was president of his class for four years and the president of the student council during his senior year. Frank was a star performer for the Black Knights basketball team and later was a hot scoring ace for the Silver Streaks, he was the first Silver Creeker to score over 40 points in one game. He was also a member of the golf team, and a catcher in baseball. His athletic achievements were often featured in the Lake Shore News.

Frank joined the U.S. Army in 1956 and was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Core (18th Unit) of Ft. Bragg, in Fayetteville, N.C. He was a highly regarded radio teletype operator and was a coveted member of the camp’s basketball team. He returned to Silver Creek in 1958 and joined the Petri Baking Company where he worked as an independent distributor for 18 years and went on to join the team as sales manager. He loved his career and made many life-long friends.

Frank and his wife, Beverly were members of the Tri-County Country Club for 60 years, where they fondly shared many memories together. His kind demeanor and quick wit will be missed by all.
