Belinda K. (Carlson) DiPirro

WESTFIELD – Belinda K. (Carlson) DiPirro, 49, of Westfield, N.Y., passed away peacefully July 25, 2022, following an extended illness.

Belinda was born March 31, 1973, in Westfield, N.Y., a daughter to Charles E. and Bonny R. (Sunday) Carlson.

She was a graduate of the Brocton Central School class of 1991. After working many jobs to provide for her family, she attended Jamestown Community College where she earned an associate degree in nursing, then continued her education at Penn State Behrend, earning her BSN.

Belinda wanted to be a nurse after she had a bad experience with a nurse in her teenage years and she accomplished her mission. She became the best nurse anybody has ever known. She cared about her patients like they were her own family and many of them wrote her cards and letters saying just that.

She had been employed with Rural Metro ambulance service, Brooks Memorial Hospital, Absolut Care at Westfield and most recently an RN at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa. She also worked in various hospitals from Florida to Pennsylvania as a travel nurse.

Her road to success wasn’t easy. She was a single mom, and a mother of two children. Then having to go through a kidney transplant, and many heart bypass operations, emergency room visits and failing health. Her family thought they were going to lose her to Covid-19, but nurses who cared for her noted her strong will to fight and survive, stating that she was a ‘fighter’. She endured pain day in and day out, but never let it show.

She made sure her home was always clean and never let you leave without some leftovers or bags full of food just to insure nobody would go without, despite what that might mean for her.

Belinda was a past member of the Brocton and Portland rescue squads where she served as an EMT captain until she decided to pursue her career in nursing.

In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting, Cricut, camping, and making casseroles and spaghetti.

She was a fond fan of Patrick Mahomes.

Belinda is at peace. She was able to leave this earth in her own home, which is what she wanted over being strapped to machines in a hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Donald DiPirro; her mother, Bonny (Brian VanSlooten) Erhard; daughter; Crystal (Tyler Stanbro) Harris, son; Joseph (Amanda Clutter) Eddy Jr.; sisters: Sherry (Nick Whitfield Sr.) Carlson and Candy (Caelan Shirey) Anderson; grandson, Aiden Steward; nephews: Charles and Nathan Carlson, Justin Millett and Tyler and Connor Aitcheson; one niece, Alexandra Millett and beloved companion, Cooper, who was always by her side.

Further survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and colleagues.

In addition to her father Charles Carlson in 2001, she was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Carlson in 2009; and granddaughter, Addison Harris in 2021.

Friends and family are invited to call at the Morse Funeral Home on Sunday, July 31 2022, from 2-4 p.m., where a prayer service will be officiated by Rev. Helen Sam.

Memorials can be made in honor of Belinda to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 7023, Merrifield, Virginia 22116 – 7023 or to Connect Life, 4444 Bryant and Stratton Way, Williamsville, NY 14221. Belinda also encouraged anyone willing to become an organ donor.
