Jeffrey H. ”Jazzy” Snyder

GOWANDA –Jeffrey H. “Jazzy” Snyder, 60, passed away at home Monday morning, Aug. 15, 2022.

Born in Buffalo into the Turtle Clan of the Cayuga Nation on Jan. 10, 1962, the son of Oscar and Janice ( Jones) Snyder.

Jeffrey graduated from Nichols Central High School clas of 1980.

He was a therapy aide at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center before his failing health forced him into early retirement .

Jazzy loved blues music hence his nickname, he also enjoyed shooting pool, throwing darts and was part of the ” Oldstix Lacrosse Team” of Buffalo.

Survivors include three daughters: Jacky Snyder of Gowanda, Kara (Steve Ruinek) Snyder of Lackawanna and Joyslin (Jonathan) Schmidt of North Collins; grandchildren: Frank Canaan, Caye and Caias; great-grandchildren: Elodie and Layton. Jazzy is also survived by a brother, Edward Snyder of Buffalo; and a sister, LaDonna (Jean) Snyder-Scammey of Fla.; along with several nieces and nephews .

Besides his parents, Jeffrey was preceded in death by a brother, Elwin Jones .

Friends and family may call at the family residence 13234 Route 438 all day Wednesday where his funeral will be held Thursday Aug. 18, 2022 at 9 a.m. Interment to follow in the Good Shepherd Church Cemetery Irving .
